NameCurve

Every name has a shape

11,699 names, plotted from the birth registers of two countries.

Most name sites will tell you a name's rank this year. That is one dot. The interesting thing about a name is its curve — when it arrived, how fast it climbed, whether it is falling now, and whether it did the same thing on the other side of the world.

NameCurve is built directly on US Social Security Administration, national baby-name data and NZ Department of Internal Affairs, births by first name: 117,820 US name records back to 1880, and New Zealand's full register back to 1900. Nothing here is copied from another names site.
