About NameCurve
Search any name and you will find a dozen sites willing to tell you it means "brave warrior" and that it is #47 this year. Almost none will show you what the name has actually done over the last century, and essentially none will show you what it did anywhere other than the United States.
NameCurve is built the other way round. It starts from the files the registrars publish — every name given to at least 5 American babies in a year since 1880, and every name given to at least 10 New Zealand babies in a year since 1900 — and draws the curve. Meanings come last, and only with a citation.
It is published by Amit Sharma alongside a set of other data sites, and it carries the same rule as all of them: every figure traces to a named, dated source, and where the data cannot answer a question the page says so instead of guessing.
